概要

Juniper NetworksのJunos OSおよびJunos OS EvolvedのPeriodic Packet Management Daemon（ppmd）において、有効寿命後のメモリが解放されない脆弱性が存在します。この脆弱性により、認証されていない隣接する攻撃者がサービス拒否（DoS）を引き起こす可能性があります。BFDセッションが認証付きでフラップすると、ppmdのメモリがリークすることがあります。このリークは攻撃者の制御を超えたレースコンディションに依存して発生します。この問題は、分散（委譲）モード（デフォルトの動作）またはインラインモードで動作するBFDにのみ影響します。リークの発生は、以下のCLIコマンド「 show ppm request-queue」によって監視可能です。継続的に増加する保留リクエスト数はメモリリークの指標となります。この問題はJunos OSのバージョン21.2R3-S8未満、21.4の21.4R3-S7未満、22.1の22.1R3-S4未満、22.2の22.2R3-S4未満、22.3の22.3R3未満、22.4の22.4R2-S2および22.4R3未満、ならびにJunos OS Evolvedの21.2R3-S8-EVO未満、21.4R3-S7-EVO未満、22.2R3-S4-EVO未満、22.3R3-EVO未満、22.4R3-EVO未満の全バージョンに影響を及ぼします。

想定される影響 当該ソフトウェアが扱う情報について、外部への漏えいは発生しません。 また、当該ソフトウェアが扱う情報について、書き換えは発生しません。 さらに、当該ソフトウェアが完全に停止する可能性があります。 そして、この脆弱性を悪用した攻撃の影響は、他のソフトウェアには及びません。

概要

A Missing Release of Memory after Effective Lifetime vulnerability in the Periodic Packet Management Daemon (ppmd) of Juniper Networks Junos OS and Junos OS Evolved allows an unauthenticated adjacent attacker to cause a

Denial-of-Service (DoS).

When a BFD session configured with authentication flaps, ppmd memory can leak. Whether the leak happens depends on a race condition which is outside the attackers control. This issue only affects BFD operating in distributed aka delegated (which is the default behavior) or inline mode.

Whether the leak occurs can be monitored with the following CLI command:

> show ppm request-queue

FPC     Pending-request
fpc0                   2
request-total-pending: 2

where a continuously increasing number of pending requests is indicative of the leak.

* All versions before 21.2R3-S8,
* 21.4 versions before 21.4R3-S7,

* 22.2 versions before 22.2R3-S4,
* 22.3 versions before 22.3R3,

Junos OS Evolved:
