uutils coreutils の mkdir ユーティリティは、-m フラグを使用する際に、まず umask から派生したパーミッション（通常は0755）でディレクトリを作成し、その後に別の chmod システムコールで要求されたモードに変更するという誤ったパーミッションの適用を行います。マルチユーザー環境では、これによりプライベートにする意図のあるディレクトリが他のユーザーにアクセス可能な短時間のウィンドウが発生し、不正なデータアクセスが可能になる恐れがあります。
