Summary

Linuxカーネルにおいて、以下の脆弱性が修正されました。xfrm_userのbuild_report()関数で発生した情報漏洩の問題です。struct xfrm_user_reportは__u8型のprotoフィールドの後にstruct xfrm_selectorが続き、3バイトの空白パディングがありますが、このパディングはユーザースペースにコピーされる前にゼロクリアされていませんでした。この問題は、個々のメンバ変数を設定する前に構造体全体をゼロクリアすることで修正されました。

Summary

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

xfrm_user: fix info leak in build_report()

struct xfrm_user_report is a __u8 proto field followed by a struct
xfrm_selector which means there is three "empty" bytes of padding, but
the padding is never zeroed before copying to userspace. Fix that up by
zeroing the structure before setting individual member variables.
