Summary

Linuxカーネルのfsファイル属性取得処理において、未初期化の変数が使用される脆弱性が修正されました。この問題はsyzbotによって報告され、file_kattr構造体の初期化が不足していたことが原因でした。本修正により、vfs_fileattr_getを呼び出す前にflags_validが確実に初期化されるようになりました。

Summary

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

fs: init flags_valid before calling vfs_fileattr_get

syzbot reported a uninit-value bug in [1].

Similar to the "*get" context where the kernel's internal file_kattr
structure is initialized before calling vfs_fileattr_get(), we should
use the same mechanism when using fa.
