PerlのNet::CIDR::Setバージョン0.20まででは、非ASCIIのIPアドレスおよびネットマスクを受け入れていました。アラビア・インディック数字の「1」（U+0661）のようなUnicode数字も受け入れていましたが、正しく数値として解析されませんでした。これにより、ネットマスクがより大きなネットワークを受け入れる可能性がありました。
