Azul systems develops and provides its own builds based on OpenJDK. The free version is "Zulu Community". Zulu Community follows the OpenJDK quarterly release cycle, with updates in January, April, July, and October. Intermediate releases, such as OpenJDK 9, 10, 12, 13, 15, and 16, will provide updates for at least 6 months after the initial release. Many platforms are supported, including Windows, Linux (including Alpine Linux), macOS, Solaris, onsite, desktop, Docker, as well as public and private clouds. Long-term support (LTS) will be provided for the same release as Oracke OpenJDK. The following Long Term Support (LTS) will be updated on a quarterly basis until Zulu Community OpenJDK 7: until July 2023 Zulu Community OpenJDK 8: until March 2026 Zulu Community OpenJDK 11: until September 2027 Paid support is available for Zulu Enterprise™ and Zulu Embedded™. Paid support is provided for Zulu Enterprise™ and Zulu Embedded™. Paid support includes quarterly feature additions, security fixes, and immediate patches for critical security fixes. At least eight years of bug fixes, security updates, and other product support will be provided. Two years of extended support for migration to the new JDK will also be provided. Medium Term Support (MTS) will be provided for 1.5 years after the next LTS is released, with an additional 1 year of extended support. The price of paid support for OracleJDK varies depending on the number of CPUs and other factors. Azul Systems is priced according to the number of servers and desktop PCs, so you can receive support at a relatively low price. As a partner with Microsoft, Java developers using Azure and Azure Stack can get support at no additional cost by using the Azul Systems Zulu Enterprise build of OpenJDK. |
